New Business Manager – Conference Expo

conferenceexpo is a thriving division of Nimlok, the leading global exhibition stand design and build supplier.

With conferenceexpo we offer an alternative solution to Conference Organisers running break out exhibitions alongside their conferences. This growing division fills a niche between existing event formats offering organisers a turnkey prescribed format stand package for them to sell onto their exhibitors. The graphic and AV inclusive package transforms the impact of the event, opens up new revenue streams for the organiser and enhances both the presentation and experience of the event sponsors.

Requiring organisers to change their event model and commercial arrangements with their sponsors, requires an intelligent well researched commercial approach in which you must demonstrated a true understanding of their business model and the perspective of their exhibiting sponsors. Consequently, a high degree or commercial acumen and thorough understanding of the conference business model will be key attributes of the future leader of conferenceexpo that we are looking to appoint.

Sitting alongside the Nimlok business with its full range of exhibition services, 100 strong team and vast capability, there’s tremendous scope to sell additional services alongside the conferenceexpo package and to enhance the offering with additional services and features as it continues to expand. Here’s we’re we are looking for the ambition and commercial acumen to lead the growth and evolution of the division with aspirations to find a future business unit Director as it grows.

Key responsibilities:

To have overall responsibility for driving forward the sales & proposition development of the conferenceexpo division, maintaining strong relationships with existing clients while proactively identifying and securing new business. This role will work closely with a dedicated Project Manager, Event Administrator and Event Designer to ensure clients and their valued sponsors receive a smooth and professional service whilst reporting directly to the conferenceexpo founder and Nimlok Managing Director.

The ideal applicant:

Previous sales experience in event services, event management agencies, conference organisers or exhibition organisers is essential. The main objective is to increase revenue from conferenceexpo from £500K in 2016 to £1m+ in by the end of 2018. In order that growth objectives are achieved, flexibility and a hands-on approach will be essential in this demanding but very rewarding role, so the successful candidate can expect to travel throughout the UK & Europe to meet clients, plan events and to promote our services at several high profile industry events.

As this role will predominantly be dealing with clients based in London, applicants may either be London based/commutable (working from home or serviced office) or alternatively work from our prestigious HQ in Northamptonshire.

In return we can offer a competitive basic salary and OTE (both salary & commission/bonus dependent upon experience) plus benefits including: Pension with employer contribution, Health Care scheme and Death in Service.
