Nimlok Exhibition Stands and the Environment

Sustainability at core of the company’s exhibition products
For more than 35 years Nimlok products have provided the exception in its chosen field- sound and sustainable display and exhibition stand solutions.
From our founding in 1970, reusability has been the core value of all Nimlok's products. We have always believed passionately that there is a better way than the "build and burn" philosophy that has dominated the majority of display and exhibition construction. The Nimlok Way is with modular, reconfigurable exhibition stands and solutions: engineered from the start to be used again and again- as the marketing needs of the stand evolves, so does the system to accommodate it.
Testament to the reusability of Nimlok products is the very large quantity of Nimlok equipment still in daily use after more than a quarter of a century.
Even at the end of their long "useful life" Nimlok products continue to be environmentally sound as they are manufactured using 80% recyclable material.
From the outset Nimlok has offered to properly dispose of any equipment no longer wanted by our clients as part of the original purchase contract. This is now known by more fashionable terms such as "Source responsibility" but has always been part of our philosophy- and will continue to be.
A Culture of Environmental Awareness and Best Practice
Nimlok is the worlds largest supplier of modular and reusable display and exhibition equipment, yet remains a family business. Great people and our strong culture are foremost contributors to our success and we highly value the ethical and long-term perspective. This perspective includes the desire to make Environmental considerations central to the way we do business in the 21st century. With this goal in mind, we are proud to be actively participating in the following initiatives:
ISO14001
Nimlok has now gained the ISO14001 environmental British Standard.
BS8901, 2007
Nimlok's Managing Director has been part of a Trade Association working committee drafting a standard to ensure environmental sustainability and responsibility within the entire events field. This is the first time that the events industry has had a environmental standard and naturally Nimlok will be working hard to set an example with full and early compliance.
Recyclability
Nimlok operates a recycle program for all paper, cardboard, and aluminium so that the unavoidable waste from both administration and production are recycled. Its marketing strategy has deliberately moved away from paper based campaigns where possible and demonstrates a reduction of 50% in printed matter for the last two years alone.
Harmful compounds
Nimloks leading edge graphics production facility has avoided the use of solvent based printing processes and invested heavily in alternative methods which have less social and environmental impact.
Carbon Footprint
With global warming now acknowledged to be a serious threat to our planet, and future generations, Nimlok is working hard to measure and reduce carbon emissions. Consultation with the Carbon Trust has been initiated with the desire to be carbon neutral where possible.
