How do you define a companies culture? You can ask your PR company to write it for you, which assures all the right things are said...but thats not truly representative. We decided to ask everyone at Nimlok what they thought our "culture" was, and this is what they said...
"Nimlok is a big family". "Nimlok people enjoy working here". "Nimlok people really care about what they do for their customers". "Nimlok has a can do nature". "Nimlok is a family business with a big business attitude". "We feel valued and we value what we do".
We realised that was a representative, but rather one sided view so we thought we would ask our customers...
"I couldn't have been more pleased with our stand. " - Phil Marklew, Simply Cartons
"Once again working with Nimlok has been an absolute pleasure" - Pamela Brankin, BigMouth Media
"Nimlok are probably one of the most professional companies I have worked with in a long time." - Jaswant Singh Rai, Belkin Limited,
Yet is was Nimloks Chairman and co-founder, Mr Gerald Perutz who put it all into perspective for us:
"For nearly 40 years Nimlok has provided the best exhibition, event and display solutions in the World, yet despite these technically superior products, all of the companies success is down to one thing: People".
"We have had the fortune over the years to have some of the best people in the exhibition and events industry working with us," he explains. "It is a testament to those people that Nimloks growth has been sustained during its existence and several spin-off ventures have moved quickly to stamp their presence on their respective markets". He adds: "It is also testament to the company itself, that every year additional key employees celebrate long service awards".
So what makes a company? It is fashionable to assign everything to the "Brand" but the latter has to be forged by something. If there is no defining product because you are a service provider, then it has to be that service...and service is provided by the right people, working with the right systems, to provide the right solutions.
