Preparing the staff before the show is essential. Working an exhibition stand is demanding and tiring and requires staff to be fresh, motivated and professional at all times.

Hold a pre-show briefing meeting to include the following:
• Reasons for exhibiting
• Target audience
• Personal responsibilities and targets
• Review the products/services to be exhibited
• Run through demonstrations and presentations to be given
• Explain the design of the stand including the graphics
• Enquiry handling procedures
• Sales literature
• Competitions/giveaways/incentives
• Dress code
• List of all stand staff
• Staff rota including scheduled breaks
• Show hours
• Catering arrangements
• Accommodation and transport arrangements
• Details of off-stand activities
