Leading exhibition stand supplier Nimlok has reported a 200 per cent growth in its income from non EU work compared to this time last year.
The Northampton-based company, which employs 90 staff, has expanded its scope beyond its traditional European stronghold, to assist UK firms looking for new export markets further afield.
Projects secured and delivered this year include a 20 event schedule, across four continents, for global satellite operator Inmarsat. Already in 2013, the Nimlok team has travelled to Dubai, South Africa, Singapore and India.
James Rook, Nimlok’s managing director, said: “Inmarsat’s requirements and schedule posed our biggest global challenge to date, which we are delighted to have undertaken successfully.
“We are now able to deliver such projects thanks to our ever expanding network of vetted local fabrication and installation partners across the globe. This adds to the capabilities we already have as part of the Nimlok family with our facilities in the UK, US, Canada and Australia.
“There is a growing desire from our clients for a Nimlok service wherever they go, and we are delighted to be in a position to meet that challenge with a tried and tested methodology for designing and managing local fabrication in locations where the shipping of stands from our core locations isn’t economical or time feasible in our clients busy exhibition programmes.
“We have also experienced a big increase in US projects which has lead to the appointment of a US specialist in our account management team to guide UK clients through the differences in US exhibiting and to co-ordinate the increase number of projects we are delivery out of our Chicago facility. The ability to work with an expert in the UK, with the stand produced and delivered in the US is proving a winning combination for our customers.”
Shirin Dhala, Head of Events at Inmarsat, said: “Having known the Nimlok name for many years and observing the increasing scale and reach of their capability, I was keen to see how their custom modular solution could meet our design and budgetary requirements.
“Historically we worked with a traditional design and project management agency, so I was curious to explore other options. Nimlok’s custom modular design solution has delivered a high specification design to rival any custom stand, while also delivering significant value and flexibility which was a must for our schedule. They have also successfully blended this with the design and project management of our stands at exhibitions outside of EU and US where they’ve had the stands produced locally. A seamless solution is very important to our busy team and was key to this appointment.
“Now with 10 exhibitions on four continents behind us, I’m delighted with our decision and the high standard of delivery from Nimlok.”
The latest available figures from UFI, the global association of the exhibition industry, show a global increase in exhibition venue space being fuelled by growth in emerging markets. The statistics highlighted a 12 per cent increase in space, bringing the global total up to 32.6million sqm. The report also approximated that there are around 30,700 exhibitions held across the glove each year, attended by 2.8million exhibiting companies.
