Sweetening the deal

Global exhibition supplier Nimlok is gearing up for its second showing at Marketing Week Live, seeking to find if marketers have a greater appetite for digital engagement and innovation rather than sweets and other giveaways.

Marketing Week Live will be held on 26th and 27th of June 2013 at the Grand Hall Olympia in London.

A review by Nimlok last year showed that almost 50 per cent offered giveaways versus only 10 per cent who used integrated social media. Of those giving goodies more than half used confectionery as a means of eating into the competition.

With significant leads gained and income secured from Marketing Week Live attendance in 2012, the Nimlok team is putting into practice what it preaches to clients at this year’s event.

Samantha Thomsett, Nimlok marketing manager, said: “Last year we used augmented reality triggers as a way of engaging the audience and driving traffic, so the bar has been set for June!

“We were surprised last year by some of our research and so it will be interesting to see whether some of those statistics have shifted considerably within 12 months. I can imagine for example that there might be an increase from 22 per cent in the number of people using laptops and other devices to enable live product demonstrations and I expect to see a big rise in the number of exhibitors using social media pre, during and post event. “We found real value in attending last year and look forward to showcasing our stylish hire options – and giving those attending an engaging glimpse into how hire doesn’t mean second best. We’ve just finished our latest exhibition which involved a Porsche on site, so expect the unexpected! ” Nimlok will be at stand B130 at Marketing Week Live 2013.
