Nimlok announced as AEO Excellence Awards finalist

We’re delighted to announce that Nimlok have been shortlisted as a finalist in this year’s AEO Excellence Awards!

The AEO Excellence Awards represent the best that the events industry has to offer and the event recognises and celebrates organisers’ accomplishments, standards of excellence from venues and service quality by suppliers and contractors.

Nimlok is a finalist in the Stand Design and Build Supplier category. We’ve been recognised for work produced for the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) which was first unveiled at the CIPD Annual Conference and Exhibition in November 2015.


The brief:

CIPD wanted a new stand to clearly communicate they are the professional body for HR and people development, while educating visitors about the benefits of a CIPD membership and incorporating a separate, membership and qualifications area. Their target was to gain 200 new leads from the show – up 60% from the 80 leads they generated the year before.

The response:

Nimlok’s interpretation of the brief led to a stand design that:

  • Formed a focal point of the exhibition, adding height and an instant brand recognition thanks to a circular rigged banner broadcasting the CIPD’s logo and purpose statement from all areas of the event hall.
  • Created an open and inviting space to encourage visitors onto the stand and opened a positive dialogue relating to CIPDs services.
  • Facilitated educational presentations of the benefits of a CIPD membership as the centre of the stand doubled up as a presentation area.
  • Showcased CIPDs vast collection of publications and resources with bright literature displays, highlighting CIPDs professional standards and the strong research and policy outputs.
  • Digitised and made easier the way CIPD collected membership leads via a bank of iPads.

The results:

By increasing CIPDs brand exposure at the show, creating clearer communication of CIPDs professional work and membership benefits and developing a new digital app to collect leads, CIPD exceeded their initial target of 200 new enquiries from the show. In fact, they gained 299 new enquiries – a 374% increase from the previous year.

We’d always associated hiring anything with off the shelf kits, so were delighted we could achieve so much with their clever blend of hired structure and bespoke made features. Our team, stakeholders and visitor’s feedback was all positive and we were delighted with a huge increase in recorded enquiries.”
