As the staff at Nimlok welcome the 4th incarnation of #GED19, we’re celebrating our exciting industry and the power of live and face to face events. Where brands are provided with the perfect platforms to engage with audiences and create unique experiential marketing campaigns.
We asked some of our talented design team to consider some of the recent exhibition stand designs they’ve admired and the reasons why.
Lead 3D Designer – Russell
Interactive stand design - Bosch Rexroth
This stand was all about reconfigurable exhibition stand design to make the most of the client’s budget for their busy show schedule.
The design was simple, yet effective and showed that a modular stand not only works hard but can also be creative. An imposing rigged banner makde use of all the available height to draw footfall to the stand. Often exhibitors don’t consider the space they have above their stand, but it can provide valuable returns in the form of visibility and awareness.
The Bosch design created more interest by incorporating interactive tools at various points around the stand to engage with the visitors, promoting dwell time once they arrived.
Elegant stand design - Panasonic
I also loved the Panasonic stand at IFA. Their technology on display was phenomenal but the design of the stand itself was the perfect backdrop for their product innovations. The use of different substrates, the finish and the quality to detail are excellent.
The sleek black structure and strong architecture conveyed consistency with the Panasonic brand and each area was cohesive enough to work as an overall look but compartmentalised enough to highlight the individual categories.
It’s a great example of block colour used well and although graphics were frugal, the lighting ensures they draw the eyes.

Immersive stand design - Bilstein
This design took inspiration from the Bilstein’s new headquarters. The concept was further developed to work around the sub-brands and client’s stand requirements.
Bilstein’s branding is clean and simple in design and this was reflected in the stand style. Simple, clean lines were coupled with features such as the video wall which triggered interactive media to provide an immersive experience for visitors.
Heavy focus was provided to showcase the products with integrated showcases and display benches which were flanked by touch-screen kiosks to take visitors through a much larger product portfolio.
Retail stand design - Roca
The Roca stand reflects their brand perfectly. High quality products are housed in simulated home environments. With matte black finishes to the walls, seemingly untreated flooring, and natural touches to the tables, a luxury space is created.
The branding is simple, discreet and subtle, yet it’s still clearly apparent which brand this stand belongs to. From high-end finishes to the overall layout – everything has been thought about and considered with a primarily focus on the quality of products. The remainder of the stand focuses on hospitality and meeting spaces where visitors can admire from a distance.
