Nimlok exhibition stand and display solutions provider were hosts to the last meeting between the AEC (Association of Exhibition Contractors) and BECA (British Association Contractors Association) to discuss their recent agreement to merge, making up one united voice for exhibition contractors.
Tim Perutz (Managing Director of Nimlok) is a member of the AEC board and he sat on the council at the meeting on the 17th May.
The council discussed a new name for the company as AEC are ceasing to trade and BECA will carry on but will not be known as BECA, its strong points will remain, but the two exhibition associations are now going to be a hybrid company and so they need a new identity.
The new name was decided at the meeting on the 17th May at Nimlok headquarters in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire but will not be on public display until a later date.
The thoughts are that the term ‘British’ will be dropped and the council (consisting of six members from each company) will decide something that is very different. The three year business plan was also determined at the meeting.
