The Brief

Eviden, a newly established brand, within the Atos Defence group, chose DSEI as the stage for their new brand launch where they booked their largest ever space.

With over 53 years of experience, Nimlok was proud to be selected by Eviden to consult, design and deliver on their presence at DSEI, ultimately delivering a winning strategy, a sustainable bespoke hire stand and clever engagement tools to increase interactions, boost data capture and deliver memorable experiences.

With just 14 weeks before DSEI, Eviden visited Nimlok and met with the team in our showroom to experience the latest in engagement tech and to benefit from an intensive advisory and creative session to fast-track their plans and vendor selection. During that session, based upon their objectives, Nimlok advised a project approach that saw a master scheme for the 140sqm space that would enable the overarching structure to proceed, whilst providing more time to creatively explore the contents of 4 experience rooms.

Strong advice and thorough investment plans combined with Eviden’s need for integrated digital engagement tools, quickly enabled them to select Nimlok over the alternative option of a stand contractor and separate experience agency. Once underway, Nimlok then led additional creative sessions with the stakeholders for each zone, with our graphic design, 3D design and digital teams crafting a distinct experience in each room.

Our Response

The stunning design used angled rigged logos, in striking lit frames to ensure maximum brand exposure from all approaching angles. The frames also featured zig-zagging tensioned rope light to symbolise the “digital mesh” that is used extensively in the defence IT world.

The 4 experience rooms were presented through striking and intriguing tunnel entrances, with long thin LED screens used to present the room topics with animated graphics.

These, along with our newly upgraded touchscreen kiosks, were two new elements of versatile hire inventory added to Nimlok’s ever expanding range of hireable feature architecture and in-house AV, offering our clients maximum value, flexibility, and sustainability.

One distinct feature of the stand was delivered by the giant rig structure featuring white rope lighting supported by a distinctive black metal mesh. Additionally, there was the branded orange key light strategically placed to highlight the Eviden logo and enhance prominent features within the stand.

With Eviden’s fundamental values and brand guidelines at the forefront, Nimlok’s in-house graphic designers adeptly crafted graphics that merged pertinent branding messages with succinct taglines, ensuring a clear representation of the business while also referring to the brand’s association with the Atos group.

Innovative Engagement Tech

Interactive Bird Table

As the primary engagement tool, Nimlok proposed a prominent centre piece referred to as the “bird table”. This engagement solution enabled visitors to glide a digital puck across a battlefield map with hotspots initiating content presented on two touch screens related to Eviden’s involvement in different theatres of action. Delivering a huge intrigue effect, the bird table acted as a powerful tool which drew visitors to the stand and served as a great introduction piece before relevant prospects were led into the corresponding experience rooms for more focused experiences and demonstrations.

Smart Serve Technology

The exhibition stand also featured a central hospitality bar equipped with a customised version of Nimlok’s smart service technology. This innovative system not only aided Eviden’s hospitality team to prepare visitors’ drinks, but the tools delivered a personalised experience for the visitor whilst collecting their data and survey answers.

Interactive ‘Phygital’ Timeline

One of the feature rooms was set to illustrate Eviden’s work in the field of military medical records. Nimlok’s response was to design and develop a phygital timeline of the career journey of a military recruit, with the dynamic content navigated by a physical scroll dial making it a more tactile, fluid and intriguing.
