The Brief

JDR Cables are long-time exhibitors but were considering abstaining from one of their main show dates at Global Offshore Wind as the the cost of redeploying the stand from their incumbent supplier was coming in over budget.

The JDR marketing team were disappointed and had contacted the show organisers who put them in touch with Nimlok. JDR had never considered hiring an exhibition stand as they felt it might compromise their design ambitions. The brief they submitted detailed how they wanted to convey their brand message of ‘no cable failures ever’ with interesting graphic design whilst facilitating both pre-booked and drop-in meetings.

Our Response

Our team of experts utilised Nimlok’s bespoke hire formula to create a stand that fit within JDR’s budget. With an incredibly tight schedule of just 3 weeks from the initial briefing to the show date, our designers worked wonders to combine ‘behind the scenes’ hired architecture with custom graphics and a statement feature to create a stunning stand with 75% hired elements which stretched JDR’s budget as far as possible

Striking graphics illustrated the technology used within JDR’s cables and a combination of formal and informal meeting areas were created to facilitate both scheduled and drop-in meetings with prospects and customers.

The Results

The bespoke hire solution not only led to a reduction in upfront budget investment but reduced their ongoing storage costs meaning the JDR marketing team could refresh their stand much more cost efficiently both for GOW and any future events.

Our team of experts were able to turn the project around despite a very short design to build window, to deliver a stand that JDR’s team were pleased with and that met their objectives within budget.

We Are Very Pleased With Our Stand

Up until 3 weeks before the show, we were not going to exhibit as the costs for the booth with our incumbent builder were too high and we had a very strict budget. We spoke with Nimlok and they were very accommodating and met that budget for us.

Before we used Nimlok, my perception of hired stands was that there was a lack of ownership and control but in fact it allows us more freedom and flexibility to develop our booths.

We are very pleased with our stand, it is different to our normal approach, but it is very open and fresh, and helps us present a new image of JDR. We are already in discussions with Nimlok to see what we can do for next year’s show and increase and improve upon what we already have.
