The Brief
Building on the triumph of our superhero-themed exhibition campaign which launched at TFM 2022, we chose to broaden our horizons and once again “save the day” at B2B Marketing Expo which took place at ExCeL London in November 2023.
Our team of Nimlok exhibiting superheroes aimed to highlight our expertise and engagement tools, focusing on presenting our creative content, bespoke exhibition stands and visitor engagement solutions.
Embracing the superhero theme with our Nimlok mascot and “City Space” style setting, we successfully designed an immersive space to demonstrate our business values while captivating and entertaining the attending delegates.
While we may not possess superpowers, we certainly designed an exhibition stand that attracted attention while showcasing our diverse range of services through engaging formats. This is exemplified as we won the Best Stand Award at B2B Marketing Expo 2023! The exhibition stand presented an exciting layout which demonstrated Nimlok’s values of bespoke hire and branded engagement solutions.
Our Response
Following the overwhelmingly positive response received from introducing our Connect gamification at TFM 2022, we opted to incorporate the same game once again. Nimlok’s Exhibiting Superheroes game enables up to 8 participants to engage directly from their smartphones. Upon selecting their avatars, players navigate an exhibition hall, collecting visitors and Nimlok Power-up pills while strategically avoiding exhibiting zombies, such as Lacklustre Lizzie and Distant Dan. These Nimlok power-up pills further reinforced our brand message, focusing on enhancing visitor engagement, customised stand solutions, stand analysis and staff training.
Once the game concluded, each winner received a Nimlok “power ball” that appeared above the screen in a transparent pipe which rolled and dropped into a branded Nimlok post box, each containing delightful sweets!
To reinforce our branded theme message, we introduced a photo booth that encouraged delegates to embrace their inner superhero! Our uniquely branded photo booth, designed as a traditional phone box, featured a screen and camera strategically positioned to capture the visitor’s face enhanced with a superhero skin. This photo booth not only showcased our graphic design prowess but also demonstrated our creative and unique insights into the exhibiting industry based on themes and trends.
Each visitor received a printed copy of their superhero photo as a special keepsake, featuring the Nimlok-branded superhero logo. This ensured that delegates would recall and associate positive experiences with the Nimlok brand after the show.
Marketing touchpoints
Alongside our engaging exhibition stand, we also disrupted the show floor by placing a Nimlok-branded superhero sticker on every delegate who visited the Nimlok stand. Throughout the day, Nimlok team members would walk the exhibition floor, spot a delegate who visited “Nimopolis” and hand them a free prize. This reinforced the positive response and memorable delivery towards the Nimlok brand. This disruptive marketing tactic proved to be a game-changer as it significantly increased our brand exposure at the event!
The Results
The popularity of the game was undeniable, with over 400 game plays in just two days. We also distributed 50 printed Nimlok superhero-themed photos to delegates who captured their superhero image in the Nimopolis photobooth. This overall success kept delegates engaged for an average of 15 minutes of brand time per delegate.
Putting the finishing touches on our themed exhibition stand, every detail was carefully crafted to align with the superhero theme. Our uniforms, complete with digital blue name tags and branded trainers, served as a visual representation of our brand message to reinforce our slogan “powering up your exhibiting performance.” As a final touch, we introduced a signal that illuminated above our stand, projecting the Superhero Nimlok branded “N” onto the ExCeL ceiling.
