Health & Safety Policy Statement of Intent
Health and Safety is at the heart of all activities undertaken at Nimlok, where a positive Health and safety culture is nurtured.
It is and will remain Nimlok’s commitment under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and all associated regulations to conduct its activities in such a manner as to prevent adverse effects on the health, safety and welfare of its employees, build-partners, customers and others – so far as is reasonably practicable. In particular:
- As Per the Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 we will identify, plan, eliminate or, where not reasonably practicable, reduce, control and monitor OH&S risks and associated OH&S opportunities arising from our undertakings, creating a safe, well planned, controlled and healthy environment.
- We will ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all our employes and other partners that may be affected by our work.
- We will maintain our premises, plant and equipment in a state that is safe and without risk to health, ensuring safe means of access and egress.
- We will report all accidents, incidents and near misses.
- We will inform, instruct, supervise, and train employees and where required, contractor and build partners as to their duties and responsibilities.
- We will provide, implement and monitor occupational health and wellbeing to ensure the health and wellbeing of those undertaking works on our behalf are not adversely affected.
- We will investigate, remedy and learn from past incidents, accidents and near misses to prevent future work-related injuries and ill health.
- We will set Health and Safety objectives.
- We will ensure full cooperation and support from our employees, contractors and build partners.
- We will embed our values throughout the company, developing and implementing best practice where practicable.
- Aim to continually improve our health and safety system and our performance.
- We will commit to do what is practicable to strengthen the positive culture on site.
- We will consult and communicate our undertakings with employees, representatives, contractors, build partners and customers through safety meetings, training toolbox talks, risk assessment and the development of procedures and policies.
- We will provide the necessary resources, including time and finances, to ensure the continued successful use and development of the Health and Safety Management System.
- We will hold regular Health and Safety Committee Meetings.
- Strictly adhere to organiser’s safety instructions as advised when on exhibition sites.
To ensure we achieve these obligations, the management team will ensure:
- Health & safety is controlled effectively by ensuring employees understand their responsibilities.
- Health & safety communications are clear and visible to all employees, contractors and Build Partners.
- Health surveillance is carried out as required.
- Ensure we have access to competent advice and support.
To ensure delivery of the policy, all employees, contractors and Build Partners must ensure that they:
- Co-operate with the company to enable it to comply with its Health & Safety duties.
- Never put themselves or others in any danger in their working environment
- Will not misuse or abuse anything the company has provided for Health & Safety
Responsibility for Occupational Health & Safety within Nimlok Ltd. is that of the Managing Director. The implementation of this policy is the responsibility of the Operations Director.
