Environmental Culture

When you have a company whose fundamental business model is to make event solutions that are reusable- then that soon becomes its internal culture. Every time Nimlok designed and built something, it was based on this philosophy not because our people thought first about the environment (it wasn't so fashionable in 1972), it was because that was the company way.

Today things are a lot different. The environmental awareness of our people and our companies subsequent stance, affects everything we do. We are able to stand proudly on that fundamental model of a system and culture that looks to re-use, and build upon it with active measures to lessen both our own, and our clients environmental impact.

Initiatives by our environmental committee and by individuals in the business mean we have participated in programmes of aluminium and paper recycling long before statutory requirements. Events such as "World Environment Day" were heavily supported by staff and usage of bicycles to get to work has increased so much we have invested in bespoke parking for them.

We even set aside part of our site to nature when Newts were discovered nesting in one corner... although to show their appreciation they promptly left!

Guess you can't get everything right for the environment and good intentions are often confused with real, valuable action- but we have the confidence of knowing that ISO14001 proves us to be fundamentally sound in our actions both now ...and in the future.
