Exhibition Stand Experts, Nimlok, think ‘green’ on World Environment Day 2007

World Environment Day 2007 was marked on the 5th June and Nimlok staff took part in two ways. Staff were invited to take part by wearing something green for the day to create awareness and help them remember to think ‘green’ at all times.

Nimlok employs 120 people and 37 people car shared on the day, 6 push biked (that would normally drive) and one came on a motorbike (better for the environment than coming in a car).

Joanne Tong (Nimlok environmental project coordinator) commented; “68.4 tonnes of carbon dioxide would be saved a year if we continued to do this everyday and so Nimlok staff (where possible) are continuing to do so”.

Based in Wellingborough, Nimlok Ltd, leading exhibition and display stand solutions provider worldwide have been recycling since their foundation in 1970. Reusability has been a fundamental feature of all Nimlok’s products. The Nimlok way is modular, reconfigurable solutions; engineered from the start to be used again and again even as requirement evolves.

At the end of their long ‘useful life’ Nimlok products continue to be environmentally sound as they are manufactured using 80% recyclable material. Nimlok endeavours to ensure maximum recyclability of unwanted products by offering to dispose of any equipment no longer wanted by clients, as part of the original purchase contract. Under the leadership of Joanne Tong, Nimlok has embarked on the road to formal certification under the internationally recognised environmental standard ISO14001. Full compliance and certification is on schedule for completion at the end of 2007.
